Klingenzell-Hochwacht circular hiking trail
This circular trail is characterised by beautiful views to the north over Untersee and the Rhine all the way to southern Germany. When visibility is good, there is also a magnificent panorama of the Alps to the south. In order to be able to enjoy the many beautiful views, there are many places to sit and take a break along the way. It is also worth taking a break at the Klingenzellerhof restaurant or at the public fireplace near the Hochwacht - here, too, picturesque views are guaranteed. The Klingenzell pilgrimage church is not only a popular destination for pilgrims.
Bicycle tour along the Untersee
The well-maintained and signposted Rhine Route takes cyclists between Kreuzlingen and Schaffhausen along beautiful cycle paths along the Untersee. Promising views and enjoyable stops are just as much a part of it as secluded bathing spots for warm summer days. For the way back, the bike can be loaded onto the boat of the Schifffahrtsgesellschaft Untersee und Rhein (URh).
Gasthof & Hotel Schiff Mammern
Seasonal cuisine, local specialities, freshly caught fish from Lake Constance and homemade ice cream specialities are just some of the many reasons why the Gasthof Schiff in Mammern is known and loved by its guests. Guest rooms invite you to spend relaxing days on the shores of Untersee. A stay is sweetened by breathtaking sunsets. In summer, the secluded garden restaurant invites you to dine al fresco and adjacent children will get their money's worth on the beautiful playground. The inn is a warmly run family business.
Camping Guldifuss
Camping Guldifuss is one of three campsites in Mammern and is located directly on Untersee. The campsite has cosy pitches for caravans and a large meadow for tents. If you are travelling by boat, you can moor at the campsite's own jetty.
Schifffahrt Untersee and Rhine
The scheduled boats of the Schifffahrtsgesellschaft Untersee und Rhein (URh) run daily from April to October between Kreuzlingen and Schaffhausen - with a stop in Mammern, of course. Europe's most beautiful river cruise is worth a trip and lets guests discover the wonderful Rhine landscape and Untersee from the water. Theme boats offering brunch, fondue or bird show cruises, for example, are particularly popular. A few years ago, Mammern opened a new landing stage that impresses with its elegant appearance.
Restaurant Klingenzellerhof
The Restaurant Klingenzellerhof above Mammern is a popular destination for hikers. High above Untersee, guests enjoy the beautiful view. Right next door is the popular pilgrimage church that has made Klingenzell famous far beyond the region's borders, even though it is the smallest Catholic parish in Thurgau with only 35 souls. The church was founded in the Middle Ages by the lord of Hohenklingen after he promised to build a pilgrimage church if he was saved from a wild boar. In 1705, it was consecrated by Our Lady of Sorrows. The history and geographical location make this place unique.
Hike to Ruine Neuburg
The Thurgau circular hiking trail is particularly varied on the section between Steckborn and Mammern. In addition to the beautiful view of Mammern and the lake, the hike also impresses with the historic ruins of Neuburg Castle. The medieval ruin is not only the most important and largest castle complex on the southern shore of Untersee, it is also the best preserved. Thanks to the barbecue area and play facilities, it is also a popular destination for families.

Badi Mammern is a popular meeting place for young and old in summer, either for swimming or "sünnälä". In 2018, the newly built Badihaus was inaugurated. Insider tip: Be sure to stay until sunset! The view from the bathing area is particularly beautiful.
