On safari with tent and bike
Camping by bike? Discover Thurgau and neighboring Schaffhauserland? Yes, you can. With the Velosafari. On the two-day tour, guests don't travel by jeep, but on a specially designed cargo e-bike. This has a fold-out sleeping area for two people on the pannier rack, so to speak. Guests can choose between a Thurgau and a Schaffhausen route. In Thurgau, they spend the night with a winegrower in the Seebachtal valley or on the Iselisberg. One of their wines is served to the cyclists at the starting point in Mammern. For the aperitif on the way, of course. Bookable from spring 2024!
Camping Hüttenberg, Eschenz
Camping Hüttenberg is located near Eschenz above Lake Constance. According to an online camping guide, this idyllic little village is the most popular campsite in Switzerland. We can understand that! The gently sloping terrain offers a picturesque view of Lake Constance and the Rhine. The bistro terrace also impresses with this lake view. A pool and paddling pool, playground, youth room, nice sanitary facilities and a well-stocked shop will delight guests. For glamping fans, there are PODHouses and Zinipis, those atmospheric wooden cabins with cozy beds and views of sunsets over Lake Constance. Simply beautiful here!
Camping Seehorn, Egnach
"Carefree camping on Lake Constance" is the motto at Camping Seehorn in Egnach. And the campsite lives up to its promise. Three delicious restaurants right next door, Thurgau apple trees all around, a wonderful location on Lake Constance, free entry to the Wiedehorn lake resort, which is right in front of the campsite, well-kept infrastructure and a well-equipped camping shop ensure that guests feel right at home. If you want to explore the region, you can hire a car from the campsite. Don't fancy a tent and thin mattresses? The comfortable PODhouses for up to four people are a pleasant alternative.
Manser Hof, Winden
A stay with the Manser family in Winden promises carefree days in nature, including a farm experience. Children can join in with feeding the small animals or milking the cows. The farm is an active agricultural business, which makes the experience authentic and provides fresh produce directly from the farm. You can spend the night in the meadow between the apple trees, but there are also two cozy vacation apartments available.
Camping Fischerhaus, Kreuzlingen
Camping Fischerhaus is located on the outskirts of Kreuzlingen, directly on the shores of Lake Constance. At its heart are a covered barbecue area, a kiosk with snacks and drinks, a great playground, and well-kept sanitary facilities. A renaturalized stream meanders through the grounds. Guests without a tent or camper stay overnight in the tourist accommodation with bright two- to six-bed rooms or - even better - in the fishermen's houses. These are small, colorful wooden houses with functional yet very stylish furnishings in a small space for up to four people.
Camping Wagenhausen, Wagenhausen
Wagenhausen campsite is another showpiece among the Thurgau campsites. It is situated directly and idyllically on the Rhine, which invites you to swim and explore. The historic town of Stein am Rhein is just ten minutes away by bike. A country inn, which houses both a hotel and a restaurant, treats guests to down-to-earth dishes and rooms with a view of the Rhine. The pool, playground and mini golf ensure that there is never a dull moment. Overnight stays here can also be unusual: like a clown in a circus wagon, with modern technology in the Tiny House or in the Coco glamping tent.
