Arbon Castle
The fortified late Roman fort Arbor Felix ("the happy tree") dates back to 250 AD, which the Romans had to leave again at the time of the migration of peoples around 400 AD.
Arbon Castle later became the property of the Bishop of Constance. Bishop Hugo von Hohenlandenberg extended the complex in 1510 - 1518 in the form it presents itself today. Today, Arbon Castle is a regionally important cultural meeting center and also houses the Arbon Historical Museum.
