Show and educational garden
The publicly accessible show and educational garden at the Education and Advisory Center (BBZ) in Güttingen builds a bridge between agriculture and the general public: 300 square meters of space provide a wealth of interesting information about fruit growing.
The show and educational garden consists of an apple orchard with two apple varieties. Next to it is a small tower, the viewing platform, where no one can escape the view of the interesting landscape. In addition, peep tubes draw attention to topics such as the importance of water in agriculture, cooperation between agriculture and schools and hail nets, which are important for protection against hail and cockchafer beetles.
There is also an annual turntable on the tower that explains what a fruit grower does all year round. And: taking an apple without asking is allowed in the show garden.
