Nature Museum Thurgau
Thurgau's nature and its inhabitants at a glance at the Thurgau Nature Museum. Exciting special exhibitions, interactive tours and the museum garden complete the experience and turn a visit into a journey of discovery.
The Thurgau Nature Museum, which was awarded the Swiss Prix Museum in 2020, is located in the old town centre of Frauenfeld. It takes visitors on a journey of discovery through the region's nature. Over 1000 plant and animal specimens, from beetles to mighty bears, are exhibited on three floors. A true-to-life replica of a beaver lodge and live ants are just as fascinating as various interactive "grasp" stations, such as petting skins and puzzles.
In the children's podcast "Theo erzählt", Switzerland's youngest podcaster guides you through the exhibition. The Museum of Archaeology Thurgau is also located under the same roof. In summer, the archaeobotanical museum garden offers a hands-on experience of nature with various useful and cultivated plants. After the tour, the museum café invites you to linger. In the foyer, the museum shop offers a selected range of books, postcards and replicas. The museum and garden are barrier-free.
