The guided tour for groups takes guests through the eventful history of the port town of Arbon: from the pile dwellers of the Neolithic Age to the extraordinary industrial pioneers of the Saurer family and right up to the present day.
The extremely rich history of Arbon is given a voice by town leaders. And it is worth listening. As early as the Neolithic period, around 3000 BC, there was a pile-dwelling settlement on what is now Arbon. The Romans came and left behind parts of a city wall, towers and more. Arbon-based Adolf Saurer AG was the most important Swiss manufacturer of trucks for a long time. Participants learn all this and more on the one-and-a-half-hour guided tour through the historic town. The tour costs a flat rate of CHF 150.00 for up to 25 people.
