The Grosse Allmend is used by the military, clubs or individuals for walking, exploring, skating, observing animals, etc.. The Allmend Frauenfeld nature reserve is located here. This protected area, established in 1921, provides ideal living conditions for the many plant and animal species, which complement the military use well. Thanks to Frauenfeld's armoury, which was founded in 1865, the area has remained unspoilt.
