Along the Rhine and Untersee

From Zurich, the railway travels over the Rhine Falls to the fortified town of Schaffhausen. It passes the pretty little town of Stein am Rhein and continues along the idyllic Untersee. The wonderful view as far as the island of Reichenau and the deep blue water will delight every rail traveller. Alternatively, the route can also be travelled by water on a boat operated by the Schweizerische Schiffahrtsgesellschaft Untersee und Rhein.

From Kreuzlingen to St. Gallen

On the stretch between Kreuzlingen and St. Gallen, the railway line runs alongside the water. The view sweeps across the expanse of Lake Constance as far as the Alpstein.
